We're moving yet again!
Of course this is not brand new information, we've already told most of our friends and family. It is going to be another adventure though.
But before we embark on another move, we are in the midst of planning our vacation to Italy. To me, Italy represents one of the most romantic places in the world! I'm excited to be able to drive around the countryside and to envelope the culture and people.
A few places I'm keen to see are the Cinque Terra, the Amalfi Coast, Florence; Tuscany, Rome and Venice. I'm sure we'll be able to fit it all in, however I'm more interested in spending as much time in one place that I like depending on how much it inspires me.
The Cinque Terra is made up of five small villages. It has a walking trail that connects the five villages. The walking trail begins at Riomaggiore and ends at Vernazza. The first section is fairly easy to navigate and is wheelchair friendly but the trail becomes difficult with the following section involving a 369 stair climb. Although this is a rather difficult climb (unless you are super-fit), the rewarding views will make it all worthwhile.
The walking trail is more than 10 km long and will take approximately 5 hours to navigate along.
The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline on the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula. The Amalfi is renowned for its rugged terrain, scenic beauty, diversity and Picturesque towns.
Florence is a renaissance city in the heart of Tuscany. Sights worth seeing in Tuscany include: Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Fiesole.
Rome is the largest metropolitan area in Italy with 4.2 million residents. There are many historic museums and outdoor markets that are a must see.
Venice is made up of 117 small islands connected by more than 400 bridges over 150 canals. The busiest of these canals, the Grand Canal is as busy as a main city street and cuts through the center of the city.
So as you can see, I'm really excited and ready to explore the surrounds of my next vacation.
