Osama Bin Laden has been killed and his body has been buried at sea.
Looks like parts of the world is celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden, are you one of the masses? North America is celebrating, kids are crying and people who were losing faith in the current presidential party have gained renewed respect and a sense of achievement reigns supreme! The man behind the mass murders of innocent Americans has finally met his maker. Today is indeed a happy day.
Many Americans are using the phrase "a prince gets married a mass murderer is killed, it is truly a Disney day today!". But what does all this mean to the rest of the world, and what will happen next? Will the US now be targeted by angry militants? Will the US government release photographs for the world to see? Will we now be happy, and will we now settle down? Only time will tell.
We had a great weekend. On Saturday we went snow mobiling, ice fishing and then a BBQ on Saturday night. It was a little overcast on Saturday morning but thankfully it all fined up and the day turned out good. We were at Cathy and Paul's house by 10 am. We packed the snow mobiles and fishing gear and then headed out for about a 15 km ride to the specific lake we were going to. Then Paul took out his auger and drilled four holes in four different places around the lake and we loaded our rods with sardines and dropped the lines down to the bottom of the lake. Incidentally, the ice is still more than six foot thick! We know this because we had to add an extension arm onto the auger making it just over six foot long.
Then we set up camp and made a fire. Drank coffee and sat chatting. Sadly we didn't catch any fish but we still had a good time. We packed up at about 3:30 pm then rode back home, through the forest. I loved it. Of course I was accused of being a speedster - 70 miles an hour on a snow mobile is not that fast, seriously.
When we got back to the cabin we sat out on the deck and ate some appies. Bonny and Erik arrived at about 5:30 pm. We then had a BBQ and sat around the table chatting.
